MY NEW NIKE R10 (STREET)

(No, it's not that I didn't check it's condition before buying. This is after I had already played in it for an hour and a half.)

Bought it for $80 on Tuesday. Fits well, better than my adidas +predator Absolado, though not as soft and comfortable.

I know it looks kinda fugly; the black and white versions look much better (though they look like bowling shoes nonetheless). But those were the apparently older versions, and the shops in Queensway don't stock them anymore, so there weren't any my size. I guess it'll grow on me with time, just like my dead +predator.

Now I'm faced with a problem. I ain't got any money left to buy myself anything to wear on Graduation Nite. Ah, who cares. I'm not out to impress anyone.

HAHA!

Laughed our asses off watching these stuff at Chee Yew's house. Apparently, every language sounds like English, though obviously senseless in English.

AND HERE WE ARE.

Finally, the 'O' Levels are over... Well, kind of.

Anyways, the papers were all rather easy. I just hope the percentage we get will be the grade we get and won't be moderated.

Here's a confession, I didn't study more than 5 hours for any of the subjects, and the only subject I started studying more than one day in advance was Geography Elective. No regrets there, or I would have been one of the many people who are feeling kinda fucked up right now, knowing that they have wasted so much time mugging for nothing.

For example, there are people who memorise the entire Secondary Three AND Four Social Studies textbook, save for two chapters, thinking it was safest as surely one of the chapters they memorised would come out for the exam. I just spent four hours on Sunday evening studying one chapter - Venice. and frankly speaking, I think I did pretty well.

I only started to flip open my Biology textbook during the four-hour interval between the Social Studies and Biology papers. And I played football and basketball during then too. Still I think I did pretty fine, but I only wish that they'd set questions on the harder topics like Coordination and Response, Excretion, Homeostasis and Sexual Reproduction in Plants and Animals...

Well, what can I say? I did pretty much the same thing for my prelims and I only screwed up my English, Combined Humanities and Additional Mathematics.

English and Combined Humanities are subjects that, most agree, are hard to score well consistantly. You just don't know what answers the marker expects from you. And I sucked at A Math all along. Never passed a single exam since I started taking the subject in Secondary Three. However, I think I'll finally pass A Math for the FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE, for this 'O' Levels Examinations. And I feel that may even get an 'A'.

The rest of my prelims grades?
A1s: Physics, Biology, E Math
A2s: Chinese
B3s: Chemistry

My L1R5 score for them prelims: 16. Yes, it IS fucked up. Wonder where to go for the first three months... Or is it three weeks? Ah, whatever.

Well, I guess I won't want to talk about studies any longer.

For now, I'm gonna just play football till I drop dead. (That's just a figure of speach. I'm not going to die of exhaustion and dehydration or play during a lightning storm and get struck.)

Graduation night is just days after the 'O' Levels. Most muggers would be complaining as they would have pimples all over their faces from the exam stress. Haha. I laugh at them.

Anyways I still ain't got my outfit yet so I guess I'll get it one of these days, probably with some friends.

On a final note, to everybody out there who have studied in Nan Hua HIGH for the past four years: YES! We made it. (I hope.) Time to ENJOY, you deserve it.

Secret (不能说的秘密)

I had expected it to be a typical, lovey-dovey high school romance flick, with a cheesy plot, and where the ending would be all fine and sweet and cliche... And especially since it is Jay Chou's first attempt at directing a full film, I had kinda expected it to suck (sorry, Jay).

I couldn't have been more wrong.

The cast was good, setting was good, acting was good, storyline was good, and the music was GREAT... Pretty much everything was great. It had way exceeded my expectations.

The plot... oh my gosh... it's just... super. Nice twist, and pretty much everything adds up at the end of the day. Of course, all movie plots have their loopholes too, but... ...

Can't reveal too much of the plot, for I won't want to spoil the movie for others. So I will leave the plot to be as Jay Chou wants it to be, a "不能说的秘密". All I can say is that it's rather moving and sad.

Actress 桂纶美 also looks perfect for the role of 小雨. She looks just so sweet and innocent, and has this sincere, insecure look in her eyes in the movie.

Jay, himself, does a convincing job of playing his role too. It was an excellent job for a first-time director I must say.

He was the Prince of Mandopop, the Prince of Drift (in Initial D) and the Prince (in 黄金甲). Now he looks set to be the Prince of Movie Directing.

Kudos to Jay, the overacheiver.

Disappointed...

The food was only so-so. In fact, the last two dishes (noodles and some mango-sago-pomelo dessert) were below average...

The service wasn't that great either...

The performances were cheap, lame shit...

No dragon meat, no golden plates, no silver spoon...

... Yes, it would have sucked...

But I enjoyed myself. The friends made it all worth it. I had lots of fun! My table was WILD!

Whee~!

Oh, and by the way, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix was disappointing too.

Many scenes cut out, plot had been modified loads. Even the crucial scenes like Quiddich (The film did not even contain a scene of Quiddich. In fact it was not even mentioned in the dialogues at all.), like how Ron and Hermione became prefects, how the Blacks' house elf, Kreacher, betrayed everyone and helped Voldemolt, and how Dobby (who did not even make an appearance in the film) helped the DA find the Room of Requirement.

And Hermione Granger is prettier than Cho Chang... Not that Cho doesn't look good or anything, but...

Yea, that's bout it. Feeling slightly drowsy now... That's it for now then.

Nan Hua 90th Anniversay Dinner

It's in a couple of hours' time. Got a pretty weird outfit, wonder how the others will look like...

Oh, and it costs $100 per pax... They'd better be serving dragon meat...

LIVE EARTH

Today's 07.07.07.

Many people are going to celebrate the Earth that we live in. All the beauty and splendour of our Earth. And most importantly, get active and conserve and protect what is left of it.

Many people at home, they think that these celebrities and mega stars are unsuitable to be spokesmen for environmentalism and conservation.

They always say that these stars are hypocritical and all, persuading others to conserve the environment and stop killing animals when they walk around in fur coats, live in a huge mansion with a few hundred light bulbs and with their air-con on all the time, have concerts with giant speakers and pyrotechnics and spectacular lightworks...

Actually, to be frank, we CANNOT possibly not harm the Earth in any way at all. Those sitting in their homes complaining and mocking those celebrity activists, and those who are sceptical of all the claims about global warming and all, ..., you've got a point, but kiss my ass.

These people still have to go about doing their livelihood and lead their lives. At least they are trying to minimise, or at least lessen the negative impacts they are causing to the Earth. Are you?

Yes, I, too, am causing much harm to the Earth (typing this post out on the computer is already consuming electricity, I know). But everyone is. That's a fact.

But I am trying, quite to my best, to conserve too. You might think this is a joke, but I try to use as little paper as possible, meaning to say I cramp all the things I write as much as possible and split paper up if I only need half of it, I travel on foot, bicycle and public transport (but then again, I have no automobile of my own either...), I sleep with my windows open and without the AC, I unplug my handphone charger once it is fully charged etc... (The charger still drains power even after you plugged out out phone and turned off the power. You have to unplug the electricity socket to make sure no electricity is wasted. Same goes for your television, especially plasma TVs.)

So do your part and try, or carry on our current selfish ways and murder you great-great-great-grandchildren.

MURDERER!!!

*

Okay. Enough cock there...

Hmm... The new term's been kinda sucky.

Hate the fact that there'll be no Common Tests, but instead many small class tests, of which, all carry a certain percentage of our term grade. That means study for every test, every week.

Hate the fact that Pudge is making us stay back till around 5+pm for one day every week.

Hate the fact that we'll have to go to school at normal time on Thursdays, then be put into a concentration camp with unhumane conditions (no food, no water, and everyone's vying for the same air) while the teachers enjoy MacDonald's Big Breakfast in the general office's meeting room (yes, that's the conspiracy theory why they can't conduct the meeting after school).

Hate the fact that teachers have fucking double standards for the school rules, and different teachers interpret the school rules differently.

In the beginning, five months ago, they said my hair was too long. I shaved them all off. It wasn't against the school rule, and in fact, it was neater than any other way your hair could be.
But I was thoroughly screw anyway.

Then when my hair started to grow out, the short hairs obviously grew out and UP. They stood up, quite naturally. I was screwed too, because my hair was 'spikey'.
Now, they are screwing me because my hair's 'too long' and 'like a rooster'.

Firstly, my hair's not really that long... My fringe doesn't even cover half my forehead, let alone touch my eyebrows (which is the standard of being too long according to our school rules).

Secondly, my hair is 'like a rooster' because I dried my hair after bathing that way ever since my hair grew back. Naturally, my hair now takes this shape. But nope, teachers aren't too happy bout it. Comb your hair down, said some. I did. Right in front of them, and they still aren't happy. It's not my fault that they refuse to stay down. Some asked me to gel or wax it down. That's even more ridiculous. The school rules doesn't have a rule which says 'No natural hair styles allowed, especially if they are of a weird shape.', but there is one which goes something like 'NO GEL OR WAX OR CLAY OR WHATEVER-THE-FUCK IS ALLOWED ON YOUR HAIR.'. So they don't want me to obey the school rules and in fact want me to break another...
Then there is this teacher which told me to comb my hair down to a centre parting. That too is against the school rules.

Or maybe the teachers have a really weird taste for style and actually considered my dumb-looking 'rooster head' to be stylish and outlandish...

Oh well. So I guess I'll just shave once more, and let the cycle take its course once more.

O-Levels are coming soon. Prelims, sooner. Gotta go mug.

Okay, I guess I will just leave my blog to die and rot here, and if there happens to even be the occasional visitor that visits this grave site, please do not expect me to reply your tags.
